Terms of Service

Legal, without the fog.

Plain-English summary first. Full legal language below. BuiltWright is a one-time purchase, offline-first license with all updates included. No subscriptions, no surprises.

Last updated: February 2026. Effective on installation or purchase.

Perpetual license Offline-first Admin Hub included No subscriptions Your data stays yours

What you are buying

A perpetual license for the BuiltWright Boss app (Android) with Admin Hub included. Works fully offline. Sync is optional and user-controlled. No monthly fees, no tiers, no add-on charges.

Your data

Your business data lives on your device first. We do not sell, share, or monetize your data. Cloud sync is available for backup and multi-device convenience, but it is entirely your choice to enable it.

Refunds and crew

Refund details are described on the Pricing page. Crew licenses are planned for a future release with role-limited access and a one-time fee. The Boss license works for solo operators and small shops today.

A note on compliance tools: Features like EPA/RRP helpers and lead testing logs are recordkeeping aids, not legal advice. You are responsible for meeting applicable regulations and maintaining required documentation.

The terms, in plain English.

1. The agreement

These Terms form a binding agreement between BuiltWright SoftWorks ("we") and you ("you"). By installing, accessing, or purchasing BuiltWright, you accept these Terms.

If you are purchasing on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorized to bind that company to these Terms.

2. License grant

We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual license to use the BuiltWright Boss app and included Admin Hub for your business. One license covers one primary device and one companion device per licensed user.

You may not resell, sublicense, or host the software as a service.

3. Ownership

We own the software and all related intellectual property. You own your business data. These Terms do not transfer ownership of either.

4. Offline and sync

The app is offline-first and fully usable without internet. Sync is optional and user-controlled. When enabled, data is transmitted and stored with our cloud provider solely to provide sync, backup, and update functionality.

5. Updates

All future updates are included with your purchase. The app may check for signed update packages at launch and notify you when one is available. You choose when to install. Updates are never forced. Some updates may be flagged as recommended for security or compatibility.

6. Payment and refunds

Pricing is listed on the Pricing page. Applicable taxes may apply. Any early adopter pricing or credits are applied at purchase.

If a refund is issued, your license terminates and you must uninstall the software. Your local business data remains yours. Export it before uninstalling.

7. Privacy

We do not run ads. We do not sell your data. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect when sync or update checks are enabled, and why. The short version: as little as possible, and only to make the app work.

8. Compliance tools

Features like EPA/RRP helpers, lead testing logs, or year-built lookups are tools to help you maintain records. They do not guarantee compliance. You are responsible for verifying requirements and keeping any legally required documentation.

9. Acceptable use

Do not reverse engineer, decompile, or scrape the software. Do not interfere with update signatures or security controls. Do not use the software for anything unlawful.

10. Support

We provide support via builtwrightapp@gmail.com. Response times may vary depending on volume and complexity, but we aim to be responsive and helpful.

11. Warranties and liability

BuiltWright is provided as is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties and limit our liability for indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the license.

12. Termination

You may stop using the software at any time. We may terminate your license if you materially breach these Terms, such as piracy or circumventing security controls. Upon termination, uninstall the software. Your local business data remains yours.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Missouri without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Missouri, unless you choose small-claims court in your jurisdiction.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms for clarity, security, or to reflect new features. When we do, we will update the date at the top and post the new version here. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
