The number gets assigned when the document goes out, not when you preview it, so drafts you abandon do not eat numbers. And when a price has to change after a customer already has the estimate, you revise it. The revision is a new document carrying everything forward, the old one is marked superseded but stays whole and readable, and the two point at each other. Nothing is edited over the top of itself and nothing disappears.

The outbox holds everything the app has produced, with live status on each: queued, uploading, sending, sent, failed, or canceled. A failed send retries or reshares. A banner rides the top of the app while something is going out, so you can walk away from the screen and still know. Open a sent document and it lays out on screen as a real document rather than a PDF thumbnail you have to pinch at.
