Seats belong to your business, not to the person sitting in them. Bring somebody on, decide exactly what they can see, and when they move on the seat stays with you for the next hire.
Your account holds a number of admin seats and a number of crew seats, and they are counted rather than assigned to a person. Admin and Foreman take an admin seat. Crew and Sub take a crew seat. Your foreman quits in March and you hire somebody in April, they use the same seat. Every other app in this category bills you monthly for a person, then bills you again for the next one. Buy the seat once and it is yours.
- Admin-tier and crew-tier seats, counted rather than assigned
- Four roles: Admin, Foreman, Crew, and Sub
- Crew Management shows total and available seats at a glance
- An invite that would go past your seat count is blocked with a plain explanation
- A seat outlives the person in it, so turnover does not cost you anything
Invite somebody by email address and role. They get a link, open it on their own phone, set a password, and they are in your account with the access you gave them. They never create their own account and they never pick their own permissions, which is the point. Pending invites can be resent or cancelled, and revoking somebody signs them out and tells them why.
- Invite by email address and role
- They set their own password on their own device
- No self-signup, so nobody assigns themselves access
- Resend or cancel an invite that has not been taken up
- Revoke access and the device signs out and says so
- Every synced record carries who changed it and in what role
A grid, per role, of what that role can do. Whether they see customer phone numbers. Whether they see addresses. Whether they can add a purchase, mark a task complete, edit somebody else's time, see what materials cost, add a calendar event, approve crew hours. Set it once per role and reset to defaults whenever you want. The grid is authored on the server and pushed down, so a device cannot decide for itself what it is allowed to do.
- Customers: contact info, addresses, and whether they see all jobs
- Jobs: adding purchases, marking tasks complete, marking materials purchased
- Catalog: viewing and editing materials, inventory, movements, and stores
- Schedule: seeing all events, and adding or editing them
- Time clock: their own clock, manual entries, corrections, and approving crew hours
- Reset any role to defaults, and the server holds the truth rather than the phone
A crew member's phone shows a smaller app: their schedule, their assignments, their time clock, the jobs they are on, and the catalogs you let them into. The money stays behind the permission grid unless you open it. A Sub can be narrowed further, restricted to specific customers you pick, so the drywall contractor sees the two houses they are working and nothing else about your business.
- A reduced app for crew, built around what they need on site
- Financial screens gated by the permission grid
- Subs restricted to specific customers from a searchable picker
- Skills assigned per crew member and matched against what a job needs
- Crew detail with contact info, skills, rate, assignments, and this week's schedule
Seats bought once and reused, invites that put people on their own phones, and a permission grid that decides exactly what each role sees. No per-user monthly charge, ever.
