Tester program
I need fifteen contractors to break this.
BuiltWright is far enough along to run a real job on, and rough enough that you'll find things I missed. I'm looking for a small group of tradespeople to put it to work before it goes on sale. You get a permanent license. I get the bugs.
The deal
This is a trade, not a favor in either direction. Here's both halves of it in plain terms.
What you get
- A permanent admin license, free. It stays yours after the beta ends and after the app goes on sale. Planned price is $2,000.
- A direct line to me. File feedback from inside the app and I answer it in the app, threaded, so nothing gets lost in an email chain.
- Real pull on what gets built. The next features are the ones testers keep asking for. Small enough group that your voice actually moves the list.
- Seats for your crew. Once you're in, you can request additional admin or crew seats and I can grant them from my end.
What I'm asking
- Use it on real work. Bid something, buy the material, do the job, send the invoice, get paid. Poking at it for ten minutes won't surface what I need surfaced.
- Tell me when it's wrong. Broken, confusing, or missing something you needed at seven in the morning with a customer standing there. All three are worth hearing.
- Answer the occasional email. Short surveys or a reply now and then. Nothing that eats your evening.
- Be honest about it. I'd rather hear that a screen makes no sense than have you quietly stop opening the app.

I read every application myself. When I approve yours, you get an email with a link that opens the app, has you set a password, and signs you in as a full account holder with your license already attached.

Where things actually stand
You're being asked to put unfinished software in front of paying customers. You should know exactly what you're walking into.
- It's a beta, and it acts like one. I run my own carpentry business on this every day, so the paths I walk are worn smooth. That's also the problem. One carpenter doing one kind of work only exercises one slice of the app, and I can't find what I never touch. You're going to hit things I never will. That's the entire point of you being here.
- The bugs I'm hunting won't cost you data. Money math, customer records, and anything you've already sent are the parts I test hardest, and the parts I don't ship without checking. Documents are frozen the moment they go out, so nothing can rewrite an estimate a customer already has. What I need you to find is the other kind of bug: a screen that does the wrong thing, a workflow that fights you, a button that isn't where your thumb expects it.
- Android only, 7.0 and up. iOS is on the roadmap. If you're on an iPhone, there's a form at the bottom of this page and I'll come find you when there's something to install.
- The in-app guide covers seven sections so far. Pricing catalog, materials, customers, customer history, jobs, estimating, and approved work. That's the path a new user actually walks, start to finish. More sections are being written and the goal is to cover every feature in the app.
- Your work is backed up, properly. Encrypted local backups run daily and you get a recovery key you write down. A dead phone or a bad update doesn't cost you your job records.
- Nothing here is a subscription. Not during the beta, not after. There's no card on file and no trial clock running in the background.
